About Us

Lesley grew up riding in Virginia, competing in northern Virginia as well as in the northeast.  She took a short break to focus on obtaining her communications and psychology degree from Old Dominion University, before testing out the waters in various industries including sales, public relations, and promotions.  Lesley realized that her heart and passions revolved around the horses and decided to take the leap into making a successful career in the equestrian industry.

Lesley came to Florida originally to work as assistant to Clair Kellner at Kingsmeade Farm and then moved to Orlando to train for the top quality breeding facility Highlife Farms before landing at El Cazador Equestrian Center, owned by the Henter Family.  She has spent most of her time riding and training young, green horses and bringing them along so they can eventually be competitive in the show ring as well as bringing more seasoned horses into their full potential.

Lesley participated in the USHJA mentor program for some time with the honor of having Jennifer Alfano of Buffalo, NY as her mentor.  Other personal mentors have included Chris Wynne, Christina Schlusemeyer, John “Butch” Giza, and Marcelo Barros.

Lesley holds her ‘r’ card, recognized by the United States Equestrian Federation, and judges the hunters and the hunter equitation at the local and rated levels as well as the jumper ring for various schooling shows.

About the Facility

Based out of El Cazador Equestrian Center located 20 minutes from downtown Tampa in St. Petersburg.

Our covered arena makes for cooler riding in the summer and dry riding in the rainy season

I travel to other farms as well to teach and ride and provide an affordable rate for clinics.
I regularly attend shows throughout Florida, including HITS, and am always looking for fresh new talent to show with the “team”.

We also assist in the purchasing of your next horse or the selling of a current one.
